The Assassination of Privilege

The play is about a man who will stop at nothing to help his dying mother.  But the driving events and action of the piece are the circumstances surrounding the shooting of an unarmed black male.  I write about a white character, from a background of deep poverty, who goes to extremes to gain interviews with both the officer who shot the youth and the boy's mother.

This play was written under the tutelege of Brooke Berman first through Primary Stages ESPA "First Draft" class then through a private re-write clinic, taught along with Josh Hecht.

The Assassination of Privilege was part of the First Draft Reading Series in the Spring of 2015 and was further developed at the Playwrights Horizons/ Kenyon College Playwriting Conference.
